George suggests that Gracie get rid of their useless maid. All she does is gather gossip while Gracie does all the work. The scene changes to another couple with a famous love affair. Adolph Menjou and his wife. They talk about a movie scene that he is shooting. The maid overhears their staged arguement, and thinks its real. She's the same maid who works for Gracie, and other Hollywood stars.

Gracie drops her big news to George. The build up makes it sound like she might be having a baby, but instead she has just hired anew maid. The maid claims that she can't talk and work, so as Gracie does the chores, the maid gossips about her other Hollywood clients. Seeing that no dinner is going to be forthcoming, George leaves to eat out. Jimmy Cash sings, I'll Get By.

It's another morning in the Burns home as Gracie talks to her friend about George not letting her start her acting school. They talk about business slogans, and testimonials to promote their talent school. Gracie has circulated a handbill with a fake testimonial she wrote, and signed it as Paul Henried. As George comes in, Gracie blows smoke to cover the exit of her friend. He's a little suspicious, but will Gracie be able to talk sense to him? More importantly, will he make sense of her explanations?
