When a classified ad in the Daily Planet calls for volunteers to assist with an adventurous scientific experiment, it immediately catches the eye of young reporter Jimmy Olsen. Editor Perry White hits the roof at the idea of Jimmy charging off into danger, but elsewhere, eccentric scientists fire up their powerful machinery. A sudden explosion rocks the area for miles—leaving the Daily Planet newsroom fearing the absolute worst.
Hope arrives when a former assistant reveals the secret behind the experiments. Could Jimmy and the professor truly be trapped aboard an experimental rocketship blasting into deep space?
Launching himself into the upper atmosphere, Superman races to intercept the rocket before his friends succumb to the freezing temperatures of outer space. After bringing the vessel safely back to Earth, Clark finds himself facing one final challenge: dodging Lois Lane’s growing suspicions that he and the Man of Steel are one and the same.
