After 15 years in the same home, Jack Benny decides it’s time to sell. With a prospective buyer visiting, Jack tries to make a grand impression—hoping he doesn’t overdo it.

As the buyers depart, the cast trickles in, taking turns cracking jokes about a long-missing Kenny Baker… or was that the gas man? (Neither has been seen much around the house since Jack had it built during his Jell-O days.) Dennis Day arrives to deliver a romantic Italian melody, while a troublemaking plumber attempts to “spruce up” the place.

Bob Hope joins the gang, but the band is nowhere to be found for rehearsal, leading Mary Livingstone to defend them against Jack’s relentless ribbing. Don Wilson drops by with a few jokes of his own, accompanied by the Sportsmen Quartet, who perform a customized, sponsor-flavored song specially written to help sell Jack’s house.

Before taking everyone out to the golf course, Jack receives a call from the potential buyer, Mr. Borden, who is ready to close the deal. On the driving range, Mary and Bob manage to play quite well despite Jack’s unwanted coaching. As for Jack? A quick word of advice from golf pro Frank Nelson sets up Jack’s only solid hit of the day—one that might just end in total disaster for his real estate deal.
