Lone Ranger – Custer Rides With The Lone Ranger. ep1240, 410103

Loan Ranger and Silver, 1965.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto head toward the Big Horn trail, where trouble is brewing. Along the way, they spot a large band of Lizard Warriors painted for war—a coalition drawn from multiple tribes with dangerous intentions. While Tonto stays behind to keep watch on the warriors, the Lone Ranger rides at full speed to warn the local Army post commanded by General George Custer.

Upon arriving, the Lone Ranger finds Custer practically a prisoner within his own fort, his hands tied by military orders preventing him from deploying troops. Unable to send official aid, Custer nevertheless looks for a way to help covertly. The Lone Ranger then rides along the trail to warn the local homesteaders.

Tension mounts as the Lizard Warriors perform their war dance, whipped into a frenzy by ruthless white renegades who lead them. The situation turns critical when Tonto is captured by the outlaws. Meanwhile, the pioneer women show fierce resolve—refusing to be helpless bystanders, they rally their men to stand, defend their families, and fight alongside them.

Though Custer cannot march his regiment into battle, he sneaks away from the fort single-handedly, frees Tonto from captivity, and joins the settlers just in time. What follows is a desperate, epic clash as the settlers and heroes are pushed to their absolute limits against overwhelming odds.

Historical Note: Although Custer is referred to as “General,” after the American Civil War his permanent peacetime rank in the U.S. Army was reduced to Colonel following the standard practice of revoking wartime brevet ranks.
