A middle-aged woman enters an elevator to visit an apartment of Miss Spears. The woman is Mrs. Gray and she confronts the home wrecker over the impending divorce. Will the young gold digger take up the offer being made to her? Shots ring out from an unknown source, and Mrs. Gray flees in fear. Later in the office of Mr. Keen, Mrs. Gray pleads her case. The set up makes it seem that she is guilty as sin, but in her telling, Mr. Keen finds merit in her story. She’s just a frantic woman who only wants to keep her family together.

Mr. Keen does what he always suggests his clients do, he has her turn herself in and sit in jail. He then hits the investigation trail and talks to Mr. Gray about the situation. The cops are certain they have the right killer, but can Mr. Keen get them to change their minds? A key player in the mystery is the elevator operator, but there’s still plenty of mysterious happenings to come.

What new evidence will Mrs. Gray’s son, Jack, be able to provide to help dear old mom? Stand by for family drama, dirt, and skeletons to emerge from closets. Oh, the agony! Oh, the sorrow! Such sacrifices a mother must make to protect her family and babies! Think it’s all done yet? Just wait, there’s more characters to suspect.

With all the confessions, who can Mr. Keen believe? The cops are gathered along with the key players, and Mr. Keen points out the real killer, and exposes all the dirty details to see that justice is done. You may be surprised at the twist ending, but if you’re as observant as Mr. Keen, maybe not.
