Trying to do a good deed, and surprise his wife, Fibber brings home a bag of mushrooms he picked himself. Molly suspects the little button mushrooms might be toadstools. What will Alice Darling think when she pops in to talk about her dating life. a phone call finds Fibber chatting with Myrt the phone operator, to learn about how her old man is higher than a kite again. After a clash with the hall closet, we listen to a soft dance number from Billy Mills.

How does Fibber ever manage to find anything in his cluttered closet? He explains his organization scheme, then calls on Beulah to cook up his batch of mushrooms. Will they go well with the grouse… or is that grease, if they’re plural? Not only is Beulah doubtful, Harlow Wilcox is reluctant to stay for dinner.
