When the widow Beaumont arrived, she brought her seven kids with her. Now Lum is having second thoughts, as he discusses the matter with Squire Skimp. Will Lum have to face a Breach of Contract charge? Squire seems to think the widow might be bought off. I’ll bet he sees a slice of the payoff for himself as well.
Abner enters with word of the widow’s optimism at her marriage prospect. Complications set in that make it seems the widow will be around for a while, despite Lum’s eagerness to get her out of town, and back where she belongs. She and her kids have been staying in Lum and Abner’s new tourist camp, and now the ids are sick.
