Lum and Abner – Abner’s Remaining Possessions Sold. 480819

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

Squire and Lum clash over practices in handling money in the store. How should they work each other’s salaries, and sharing the profits? Ben Withers enters, and we learn about the comic affect that Abner’s green face paint had at the party last night.

Though it was fun for the moment, Lum helped Abner get the paint off, which also took off a few layers of skin. At least the indelible ink on Abner’s face is mostly gone. Ben shares a batch of useless information about the folks he knows at Mt Ida.

Abner arrives to try to rescue Lum from the saga of Fred ,Weaver and a Japanese flag, and a theater, and other antics. After all the swapping, there isn’t much left for Lum to choose from among Abner’s things. Lum gets the idea to auction off the rest of Abner’s stuff.
