X Minus One – martian death march ep17, 550908

In the manner of a vintage-style comic book cover titled "Mars Invades Earth: The Death March!" from the 1955 series "Tales of the Fantastic." It depicts a young boy looking anxiously toward three menacing, insect-like alien creatures standing in a rocky canyon. The aliens have tall, armored bodies with multiple limbs and glowing eyes, carrying weapons. The scene is dramatic, with warm colors like orange and brown emphasizing the rugged terrain and tense atmosphere.

Set in the distant year of 1997, this futuristic story explores the tragic outcome of a lost cause. Thirty years prior—before roads reached these remote parts—a young boy spotted two figures wandering through the landscape, though neither he nor his father could do anything to alter their course.
For years, Martians have been confined to forced reservations. However, a growing religious faction now argues that Martians deserve equal footing with humans—a concept repulsive to the boy’s father, who actively passes his deep-seated prejudices down to his son. As the boy interacts with these strangers, learning about their life before humans arrived, he begins to grapple with his father’s overt racism.
Tensions boil over when the Martians launch a violent revolt, forcing human settlers to defend themselves against what they perceive as ruthless hordes. Questioning whether the Martians are truly as savage as his father claims, the boy ultimately joins the spider-like Martians on their final march, seeking their freedom and a return to their ancient way of life.
