In their carefree wanderings, Cisco and Pancho often find themselves riding straight into danger. While visiting an old soldier friend named Davis, they discover him at the local saloon, stuck in a losing streak at the card table. Troubled by an old war wound, Davis reaches a breaking point and leaves in anger.
Fearing Davis has gone berserk after taking his gun belt to seek revenge on the gamblers, Cisco sets out to track him down. Meanwhile, Pancho stays behind to guard the Davis home alongside Mrs. Davis. Using his military training, Davis manages to sneak up on Pancho, taking him captive and fleeing into the desert. With no one else in immediate danger, Cisco rides out to track down his friend, determined to save Pancho and overcome Davis without causing harm so he can get the medical treatment he desperately needs.
