Down in Pine Ridge Lum and Abner are getting ready for their grand opening of their new picture show. Today they are worrying over Squire’s threat of opening a rival theater and competing with them. Lum just thinks that Abner could have been more tactful in dealing with Squire, but will Squire really be able to put them out of business?

Abner gets confused over another of Lum’s figures of speech. Actually several of them. Why does Lum even bother?

One expression leads to another that keeps Abner confused. When Dick Huttleston arrives, Abner tries to relate to him what Lum had been trying to say.

Lum and Abner share their concerns over Squires threats, but Dick assures them it shouldn’t be so bad. When Mose Moose phones, they find out just how serious Squire is though.
