Lum and Abner get ready to round up their hogs for Squire to take to Chicago. Cedric tells Abner that he wishes he could take a train ride to Chicago, and talks about how the animals will be shipped.
Grandpap pops into the Jot ‘em Down store. The gang talk about Lum and Evelina going for an outing. When Lum arrives, he announces a plan to have statues of himself and Abner put up. Abner is in favor of a more generic monument, but wants to wait for the money to come back before he decides.
Somehow, Lum has let Squire take the hogs without getting a count, or a receipt.
