He explains the chain letter is illegal to send, but it is OK to keep the hogs. As Dick leaves, he drops off a letter for Grandpap. It’s a chain letter from his son.
Lum returns with the bad news that the flood of hogs and corn just keep coming. But Abner shares his good news that Dick says it’s OK to keep them. What a load off Lum’s mind.
