on the trail west of Dodge, it’s a fine day for writing. Matt describes the sites and events along the way. Arriving at Pierceville, the town of about 50 people, Matt and Chester find the streets are deserted. Has everyone left? Are they all dead? A trio of killers waited in ambush. Disarmed and taken captive, Matt learns what happened to the rest of the townspeople. They are all held in a warehouse. The claim is that one of them killed the brother of one of the killers. Is there any truth to it?
Matt learns the truth from the townspeople, but with all the shooting in the raid there’s no telling who killed the outlaw. Can Matt talk sense to the crazed outlaws? Will they make good on their promise to kill the villagers 2 by 2?
Matt does his best to keep the hostage’s calm. Is there a way to develop a plan to overpower the captors? Springing into action Matt and Chester tackles a couple bandits. Even though some of the men are now armed, the outlaws still outnumber them. Do they stand a chance against the killers? It’s the chance they’ll have to take as they pick off killers one at a time.
