The phone call comes in, and Scotland Yard inspectors are mobilized to investigate a case of murder. Donald Simms was to marry the victim, Miss Holmby. The high-class butler seems to have an air tight story, and proof that he was nowhere near the crime scene.

As the questioning of other laborers continue, a secret about the murder weapon is uncovered. It’s a piece of the puzzle that holds plenty of loose ends to wrap up.
Ballistics seem to be the key evidence, with its mechanical fingerprint, to tie things together.
When clues are still inconclusive for this case of murder, inspectors turn up a similar involvement by Donald Simms in another proposed marriage. That engagement fell through due to his already being married. Is this the clue to connect all the dots for the police?

When the solid evidence lines up, it includes a bullet, a scrap of paper to tie Donald to both the weapon, and the murder scene. Is it going to be enough? It’s enough to cause the pressure of guilt to force a confession, and that’s all the cops need.
