Matt Hall’s an injured Chester into Doc’s office. He is managed to sprain both ankles after being tossed off a horse. During the treatment, a cow hand enters to talk about the big Roundup coming soon. Should Matt hire extra deputies to cover the event? An old friend of Matt rides into Dodge City, and Matt introduces him to Kitty. An old friend? Does this guy have on a red shirt? I get the feeling I know who’s going to be killed in this episode. The deputized Matlock hangs out with Chester and Matt to get caught up on old times. Chester holds down the fort at the jail while the other two make the rounds in town.
The crowds enjoy some rowdy fun, but when a gunshot is fired Matt takes control. Nobody is hurt, except for… You guessed it… Matt’s old friend. There was no foul play, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn’t take long for the rowdy crowd to start shooting up the town again. Can Matt throw the crowd out of town single-handedly? Even if he tries, will they go? In the in, Matt has to make a somber decision.
