George and Gracie discuss James Mason, and his reputation of being brutal towards women. She warns George to be on his best behavior when James and his wife come for a visit. Will he act rough and rugged when the Masons get here? George tries to explain that James Mason is actually kind and gentle and real life. Gracie learns that the Masons have a hobby of collecting cats. She races off to the Mason home to find a common connection between their families.

As Gracie tries to speak to the Masons about cats, she gets confused over terms related to cat breeds, feeding them and other Habits. In the end, the Masons decide to come over to speak to George.

With the Masons coming over, and having no cats, Gracie makes a plan to get some. She slips a sardine into George’s pocket, and sends him out for a walk. George returns with his swarm of alley cats, just in time for the Masons. The Masons think the collection of cats is odd, but somehow fitting to their humans. George finally learns the secret of his attractiveness to cats, and decides to present his collection to the Masons.

In a twist of fate, Bill Goodwin arrives to let George know one of his neighbors is missing a prize Persian tomcat. The one he just gave as a gift to the Masons. Now he sets out to get it back. Meanwhile, Gracie is jealous, and afraid that Pam Mason is trying to take George away from her. There is some confusion, when the Masons believe she’s asking about the cat and not her husband. Imagine Gracie’s surprise when George shows up at home.
