Audio is a bit scratchy and mushy. Abner is on the phone when Squire Skimp enters. He has been trying to collect debts, and get the store ready to close up so he and Lum can get busy making their movie. Squire listens to Abner tell a little about the upcoming movie that is to be made.
With a little high-pressure salesmanship, Squire talks Abner into turning the store over to him to run, and he’ll rent it from them. As Dick Huddleston enters, Squire makes a hasty exit. Abner talks to Dick about how the Hollywood bug has bitten Lum, and the crazy clothes, and habits Lum has gotten started with. When Dick learns about Squire renting the store, a secret is revealed behind Squire’s motives that make Dick mad, and Abner a bit worried.
