Champion of the weak and oppressed. When we last saw them, Lois and Clark had come to the jail to bail out her uncle Horace, only to find that he is missing.

Today our heros drive along Music Mountain. Clark points out that the mountain is moving. Trucks load ore from the mine, and school buses deliver kids, but with the shifting ground, they might be in a precarious spot.

Clark drives to the mining company office to interview the foreman. Once the busy foreman learns there’s a connection between Lois and Horace Morton, he is all too eager to drop his work to talk to them. There’s no word on the good Doctor Morton, but the operation of the mine is told. Tons of radium are being extracted before the whole mountain collapses. The landslides are due to the excess rain, and if it keeps up, it could lead to disaster for the town below.

While Clark and Lois have a moment to stand still, he begins to piece together some descrepancies he heard earlier. Using his super power, Clark listens on a mysterious phone call to the foreman’s office. What unnerving scheme has Superman overheard?

Uncle Horace seems to be in the thick of it, but how much can Clark tell Lois of what he has learned? Stay tuned for answers in the next thrilling adventure.
