In the hectic call center of the 21st Precinct, Captain Canelli is confronted with a man who has found a baby. What should Mr Wygan do with the child? The man seems to know where the baby came from, and relates the story of a single mom who can’t make a living to take care of the baby. It appears that she’ll have an abandonment charge placed on her, and the child made a ward of the state.

Mr Wygan wants to turn the child over to the police. He has enough to worry about, and can’t afford to raise someone elses obligation. Mrs Wygan is more sympathetic to the fate of the little boy, and a domestic dispute boils near the surface. If not for the presence of Captain Canelli, it just might have. Still, you just can’t claim a kid, not even back in the 1950’s. The legal system still needs to get in on the act to keep track of the situation.

Captain Canelli is sympathetic to the family, and thinks they would be a good solution to provide the care the baby needs. At least until more permanent arrangements can be made. If only Mr Wygan can be convinced. Will he? Listen in and find out.
