Sam Spade – One Hour Caper. 480104

A security guard dressed in a dark uniform is reaching for his sidearm, which is holstered on his right hip. He stands in front of a brick wall, with his left hand resting on his belt. His facial expression suggests a state of high alertness and readiness to act in case of any threat or danger.

Audio is poor, with lots of hum. Sam sits in his underwear, trying to keep cool in the sweltering weather. Morton phones him to handle an important case. Can Sam solve this and be back in his office to calm the temper of his secretary, Effie Perine? Arriving at the oyster bar, Sam narrowly misses being hit by a car, but his client isn’t so lucky.

Sam breaks the news to the widow. Clues are sparse, and Sam’s time is close to half gone. A cigarette case and a handful of foreign bills is the start that Sam needs. Sam may not be so lucky when he steps back out on the street to find that car that missed him earlier.

Circling back to the widow, Sam digs out more details. Lies are exposed, and Sam is looking down the business end of a pistol. The bad guys don’t count on how slippery Sam is, and fists fly. Sam turns the crooks over to the cops, and explains the details of the murder, and counterfeiting ring. More importantly, did he manage solving the case in the hour deadline that Effie set for him?
