Nick has a score to settle with a rat with a wooden leg, and takes the case from Mrs Wallace. The place to start is the old soldier’s tavern. Using his skill at cards, Nick wins, but also makes a friend. Or has he just set himself up for a trap?
Armed with new information, Nick checks out a shady cab. Posing as a drunk, Nick becomes an easy mark for being picked up, but what game is this? What’s happening to the missing passengers of the cab? Nick has answers, but he still smells a rat.
Joined by his cop friend, Penny, Nick discovers where Mr Wallace is, but he needs to rescue him from death. A trap is set, and secrets are revealed about who is really behind the disappearances, and why.
