Lum and Abner – Abner Arrives Back Home with a Big Car. 480902

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

Dick Huddleston and Lum are at the train depot, along with their friends to welcome Abner home. They’re all dressed up, and ready to welcome poor Abner back with open arms. Everybody thinks that Abner missed out on his inheritance, and have gone out of their way to fix up Abner’s old farmhouse.

Cedric marvels at the big black sedan that has pulled up at the station. The gents all watch as people get off the train, but Abner is nowhere in sight.
Finally they see a finely dressed and made up woman… wait, she has a resemblance to Lizabeth. Is that Abner in that fancy new suit?

Abner tells how he got his inheritance, and he’ll be staying at the hotel instead of going home. Cedric isn’t so impressed with that sedan when he notices the roof is too small for the car. It doesn’t stretch far enough to cover the driver. Abner assures him its supposed to be that way. It’s one of those lemon-zeens… or something like that. Has wealth changed Abner? What will his friends think of his new ways?
