Promised as the prize to Widow Abernathy in a game show on the radio, Lum worries as his fate draws closer. Plans to get out of the arranged marriage have failed so far, but Lum picks the brains of his friends to help. Can Ben Withers, or Abner think of some way out for Lum?
Should Lum claim he’s already married, and has kids? Can he cancel the show, and claim the prize null and void?
Reading the contract is an exercise in confusion for Abner, but Lum may have found the loophole that he’s looking for. If the prize isn’t claimed in 2 weeks, the contestant loses claim to it. Will Lum’s delay tactics work out for him? Lum wraps up with a few spot announcements, and a station break for radio station VPR. Mose Moots phones in with that complication to put a kink into Lum’s plans.
