As Rochester cleans house, Jack is at the hospital after being so sick last week. In the process he finds Jack’s diary, and reads a passage. We learn of Jack’s ordeal through the week in comic fashion.

Back at home, and with a nose job, Jack greets Mary with a kiss. Phil arrives when Jack takes his medicinal brandy. Then they talk about Phil’s education. Dennis shows up with more of his crazy talk about riding his bike. Mr Kitzel visits to comfort Jack as he still recovers from his cold.

Jack tries tuning through the radio dial to find the Sportsmen. Instead, he manages to pick up random sound bites to make a funny mix. The Sportsmen eventually sing a version of, Sonny Boy. Listen up, they reveal Jacks real age. The boys from the Beaver club pop in to cheer Jack up, and drop some hospital jokes.
