Fibber McGee and Molly – Trolley Rider. ep597, 491101

A black and white photograph of Fibber McGee and Molly, a couple from a popular radio show of the same name. They are standing in front of a closet that has been opened, with clothes and other items spilling out onto the floor. Fibber is holding a mop and wearing an apron, while Molly looks on with a smile on her face. The overall effect is one of humor and domesticity, with the couple's playful antics and cluttered living space providing a snapshot of life in mid-century America in 1948.

Sometimes titled: Bus Suggestion.

As Fibber and Molly wait for a trolley, Doc Gamble joins them for a few rounds of friendly name calling with Fibber. The day of riding and transferring trolley cars is part of a contest that Fibber expects to win. On the trolley, Fibber and Molly encounter Ole, the janitor at the Elks lodge. After a quick discussion of money, Billy Mills takes over to play, You’re On My Mind.

The adventure on the trolley causes Mayor Latrivia to cross paths with Fibber. The Mayor tells why he enjoys riding the trolley, and coming into contact with his public. Teeny pops onto the trolley on the way to returning books to the library. The Kingsmen sing… what else? The Trolley Song.

As Fibber races off the trolley to share his idea with the trolley company, the Old Timer stops him long enough to tell about his wild night of Trick or Treating. Stay tuned to see if Fibber’s idea will win the contest, and what he came up with for a slogan.
