Mel Blanc, as Jack’s violin teacher dreads approaching Jack’s house. Jack seems to have misplaced his violin, and asks Rochester for help in locating it. It gets rescued from the woodpile next to the fireplace, and the lesson begins. The lesson is interupted when Dennis comes over to say that he’s running away from home. After a few jokes related to running away, Dennis family life, and travelling, Dennis sings, Seal It With a Kiss.

Rochester takes a phone call from Phil, who talks with Jack to tell him about the baseball team. What should the team be named? And they also talk about the players on the team, but don’t quite go into the Who’s on First routine of that other famous comic team. You know who.

After the phone call, Rochester reminds Jack that his radio show that he likes is coming on, it is supposed to feature his girlfriend. She’s Miss Higginson, secretary for jack’s advertising agency, and she is being interviewed by Frank Nelson. Next on the show is Don Wilson. He claims to do impersonations, namely of each of the voices of the Sportsmen. Guess what comes next? After the singing is out of control, it’s Frank Nelson who gets frustrated instead of Jack.

Mr Kitzel pops by Jack’s house. He talks about his bowling club. With all the distractions, will Jack ever get back to his lessons? Maybe after Claude Rains stops by. He is an actor who is to appear with Jack on his Ford Theater production of the Horn Blows at Midnight, and has a few complaints about it. The two do some teasing each other about it. Claude mentions Fred Allen, and even Milton Berle is dragged into the mix, as well as a jab at Jacks age.

Finally, the lesson is returned to, but it seems the show is over.
