Another Retro Plus, but not actually a double feature. I’m all out of the old shows except for 2. Watch for them to appear later. Then the Amos and Andy features will be put on hold for a little while.
Guests: Kay Kaiser, Henry Babbet, and the writers of the hit song, Sunday Monday or Always.
Walking down the street, Amos and Andy see an old fashioned organ grinder with a monkey on a string. They stop long enough to give a coin to the monkey. They part ways and Andy goes to the lodge hall to talk business with Kingfish and Henry VanPorter. They figure they can write a hit song. They decide to go with a tune that Andy has been humming. Next, they need to find the perfect title for it. Acting on a suggestion from Amos, Andy consults the local newspaper music columnist.
The newspaper man recognizes the tune, and decides to play a joke on Andy over the tune. After being fed the real lyrics, Andy, Kingfish, and Henry all think they have an original creation. A demo is cut, and sent off to a record company. Imagine their surprise when they hear the Kay kaiser and his vocalist, Henry Babbet have already recorded their song.
They go to confront the musicians with a law suit. Kay isn’t having any of it, but is good natured as he shows Andy and Kingfish the error of their ways.
