Grandpap talks with Abner about Lum’s latest decision to become a piano tuner. Grandpap has his own exciting news, he tels Abner about an article about a talking dog. Abner can’t believe it, and thinks the dog is rude, since all it can say is, “I want one.”
Lum enters to review his troubles at getting started in piano tuning. All he needs is a piano to start practicing on, and even Abner’s amazement at the talking dog won’t distract Lum.
Maybe the church will let him practice on their piano? Why won’t anybody let Lum touch their instruments? Will he ever get started as Pine Ridge’s resident piano tuner?
