Lum is once again out doing favors to try to win himself a shot at a new car. Dick Huddleston learns from Abner about the bet for $50 with Squire Skimp. He also learns about the 100 raffle tickets that Lum bought from the Veterans organization.
Who is the stranger who just entered the store? What opportunity does he have for Lum? Abner gets confused about the business man’s coupe the salesman has for sale. Not to mention the difference between convertibles, sedans, or stationwagons.
Squire Skimp enters to turn up the pressure. His car has been ordered, and he’ll have it next Tuesday. Even if Lum makes it back to talk to the salesman, can he hope to get a car before Squire does?
