All is peaceful and serene in Jack’s home, but when Don takes us into flashback mode we join Jack on the day before. He and mary trim the tree where Jack is repeatedly shocked by his Christmas lights. Rochester gets the party preparations ready, but avoids getting involved with the lights.

Phil pops in to tell about his Christmas plans. Don brings the Sportsmen over to talk about Christmas gifts. The Sportsmen do a modified version of Mule Train, Their modified lyrics end up in, Yule Train. Jack’s evening is interupted by a wrong phone number, and a girl scout selling cookies. A girl named Joan, it wouldn’t be Joan Benny would it?

Dennis makes his appearance to joke about gift exchanging. The gang settle down to dinner, but there’s still one more electrocution gag let. To close, Dennis sings Schubert’s Ave Maria

Note: This script is nearly identical to one done for Christmas 1946. A few differences include: Dennis was still in the Navy, so Larry Stevens sang the traditional closing carols. Rochester was never shocked in the earlier script, and Joanie the Girl Scout didn’t make her appearance.
