A college professor is torn between obligations at the university, and the social demands at home. Priscilla has invited friends over for playing bridge, but George can’t rise above the stress that bothers him, and is less than social in front of his guests. Larry and Ann witness the ugly scene, and murderous words between George and Priscilla before leaving. As George storms out for a walk in the misty night, a scream breaks through the foggy air, but what horrible meaning might it hold?
The evidence is looking bad for George when Priscilla is found dead. What should he do? Can he find that man who was out walking his dog in the fog? Can George get anybody to believe him? There might be a chance, if he can find that stranger, but the odds seem stacked against him.
All that’s left is the suspenseful twist ending. Will George have an answer for the incriminating evidence against him? What disturbing secrets will be revealed?
