Downtown Lou and Bud do some last minute shopping for their party. They meet a high society woman who gets Lou mixed up, and Lou offends her by making fun of her broad vowel sounds in her speech. The guys run into Lou’s girlfriend, Lena Ghensta. Lou manages to offend everybody, and it looks like nobody will be coming to his party. Not even Mrs Niles, Verna Felton, when she meets them, but should that be a surprise? Mellonhead is a cab driver who just isn’t please with anything Lou says to him.

Lou is feeling low when it’s midnight, and nobody is at his party. Flashback to Lou’s childhood and his friends Chowderhead Abbot, and Skinny Niles. Verna is Lou’s mom who rides herd on the three unruly boys. Santa comes down the chimney to enumerate Lou’s long list of misdeeds. Since nobody loves him, Lou leaves his parents a note to say he is running away. Back in modern time, Lou is still upset over being left alone, and having nobody at his party. Surprise! the whole gang comes to the party afterall, and Lou is joined by the cast to sing a parting song for the holiday season.
