Robbery Detail. An armed robber is on the loose, and terrorizing the city.
On the chilly shift on daywatch, Joe Friday joins Ben Romero in their patrol cruiser. The jewelry store owner recounts the details of the armed robber, and his escape. While fleeing, the robber crashed into a truck, and the driver tells it how he saw it. A twist means a suspect is easily picked up. In voiceover, Joe describes background of Nicolai, and his quick escape from his cell.
The robbery spree continues. Becoming more desperate, Nicolai expands the kind of stores he holds up. Joe goes to do more interviewing of the crime victims. Why didn’t the humble candy store owner reportt his robbery sooner? Joe describes the trail left by Nicolai, and that he has picked up a partner to help him.
Pressure is on as the territory of the robbers expands. A lucky break comes while staking out a bar. There are 2 partners who are picked up, and they readily offer information on Nicolai. A confrontation, and an explosive end comes in the form of a burst of gun fire and fists.
