Lum and Abner – Squire Wants To Be Third Partner In Theater. 431103

The anticipated movie theater may be the biggest success of any of the business ventures Lum and Abner have ever had. The gents talk about their premiere, and wonder what ever happened to Charlie Chaplin. Abner is amazed at a picture he seen with Donald Duck. It’s astonishing at what they taught that little duck to do.

Lum tries to explain that he’s seen Donald Duck, and it’s not real. Abner knows it. And thinks it has to be a man in a duck suit. You know, one of them midgets. Nobody could teach a duck to do all them things.

Things with the theater have been going smoothly. Maybe too smoothly. You know it has to be a good business idea when Squire Skimp comes knocking.
Not falling prey to his flattering speech, and praises to how the theater looks, the gents refuse to let him become a partner. Will there be enough profits to split three ways? Will Squire’s promises to build up the theater income be fulfilled? The gents aren’t hearing any of it, and send him away.
