For the past couple days money has been missing from the safe. Squire and Abner talk about who is doing it. Squire declares his innocence, and wants to remain respectable, and on friendly terms. Why would either Lum or Abner want to take it, it’s their money anyway. Squire shares his idea that Zenora has been influencing Lum.
As Squire leaves, Lum enters to complain about Squire’s attitude. To thwart the thief, Lum decides to hide the cash some place other than the safe. Cedric is caught lurking, might he be the thief? More lurkers are detected. Could it be Lum’s new love interest, or her brother?
