The new dentist is getting settled in, and has gone to start looking at the teeth of the students at the school house. Mousey is seen in town, and pops in to tell the gents what he has been up to in the Army. His time is limited, and he needs to meet up with his wife Gussie before he has to leave again.

Lum and Abner – Dr Snides New Office. 430324

In the Jot Em Down store, Lum announces that Doc Snide will stay and is settling in at the boarding house. Abner gets confused at the topic of hanging out a shingle, as used with the doctor setting up his practice. Does the dentist fix roofs too? Or maybe he oughtta to just carry business cards to hand out, instead of a bundle of shingles.

As she tries to bloom into adulthood, shirley deals with feelings of being treated like a child. Especially when she butts heads with Mrs Farrow, played by Verna Felton. Shirley is much the typical teen, even by some of today's standards, sneaking out of the house, demanding privacy, sassing those in authority positions, testing the limits of her liberties, and desiring to push those limits farther. Doesn't anybody understand her?

Tough guy, Raven, played by Alan Ladd, pays off a blackmail debt once and for all with a few blasts from his pistol. He was just doing a job for an unknown, rich client, but has he just been set up as a payroll thief? Ellen, played by Joan Blondelle, has taken a job with a senator who is cracking down on risks to national security. Her undercover work means she can't even let her cop boyfriend know what she'll be up to.
