A rival buyer offered $1,000,000 for the mine, but Squire Skimp turned it down, claiming the property is worth twice that amount.
As Lum and Dick continue talking, the conversation shifts to Abner showing off in his big new automobile. After initially resisting high society, Abner has completely flipped and embraced it full force—so much so that nobody in town can keep up with him! He’s partying all night, tearing up the social scene into the wee hours, taking Lizabeth out on the town, and stopping the show on nightclub dance floors.
Grandpap drops by the store to marvel at Abner’s wild antics, and soon after, Abner himself pops in to show off his stylish new fashions and invite the boys to his next big bash.
