The audio is a bit tinney, but the suspense remains crystal clear. A man finds himself locked in a desolate room with windows positioned far too high to reach—even if they weren’t securely locked as well. Desperate to escape and reach his beloved Lenora, he hears her calling out to him, yet he is utterly helpless to get to her.
How did he wind up in this terrifying predicament? His brother shares a tragic tale of love and death, though Arnold is completely unaware that Lenora has already succumbed to an illness. To care for the mentally distressed Arnold, a pair of female attendants are hired. Can they help calm his frayed nerves, or will Arnold ever come to terms with the reality of his wife’s passing?
More hauntingly, doesn’t anyone else hear Lenora calling to him? Suddenly, a sharp knock comes—tap, tap, tapping at the door—and just as impossible as it seems, can it actually be Lenore stepping through the locked barrier? The hermit is ready to reveal all before the night is through.
In a frantic climax, Arnold breaks free through a door magically opened by a ghostly apparition. Racing at a pace only a true madman could achieve, Bruce and the attendant struggle to keep up on their relentless chase. At the final gravesite, a terrible secret involving murder and jealousy is ultimately laid bare.
