Hired by a mysterious dame to track down a contact aboard a train, Philip Marlowe has only the sketchiest of descriptions to work with. Making matters worse, the train is packed with eccentric characters—including a fast-talking traveling salesman who boasts he never forgets a face. He’s one passenger Marlowe would love to avoid, but he isn’t the only one on board searching for the target.

Just as Marlowe gets close to fingering his man, a sharp thump on the head knocks our hardboiled detective cold—and leaves him waking up next to a corpse.

Soon, Marlowe finds himself thrown from the moving train while a killer remains loose on the tracks. Can Philip catch up and climb back aboard in time? He just may be able to unravel the mystery and bring the killer to justice, leaving the local cops to untangle the trail of bodies left in his wake.
