Andrew H. Brown sits in his office reading the newspaper. After skimming the serious headlines, his attention is drawn to an ad for a dating service. Amos warns him against seeing other women, reminding him that he’s set to marry Madame Queen in June. Determined not to give up on the idea, Andy tries to borrow the two-dollar entrance fee from Kingfish. Kingfish claims he isn’t interested in joining—he just wants to see how the operation runs so he can start one himself. To investigate, he offers to go register on Andy’s behalf.
Meanwhile, Amos conducts a meeting of the Servicemen’s Lodge alongside Henry Van Porter and Sapphire. The main dilemma on their agenda is finding female escorts for an upcoming party. Amos suggests checking out the new dating service, leading the group right to where Andy and Kingfish are investigating.
Spotting her husband entering the club to register, Sapphire decides to hide. Kingfish tries to use the excuse that he’s only there for Andy, but Sapphire refuses to listen and storms out of her hiding spot. Seeking a way out, Kingfish consults his fast-talking lawyer, Gabby Gibson.
Before Andy can help smooth things over between the couple, Madame Queen arrives on the scene. Andy manages to dodge a bullet, leaving Kingfish to face Sapphire on his own. As Sapphire packs her bags and the married couple prepare to part ways, they receive a visit from Reverend Johnson. Though his arrival seems random, the Reverend counsels them on both the comforts and challenges of marriage. As they reminisce about their wedding vows, could it be enough to save the relationship? And as it turns out, Amos may have had a hand in that “random” visit all along.
