Horlicks: Horlicks can help relax you and aid in getting a good night’s rest.
Down in Pine Ridge, Squire has been operating his theater in violation of a fire hazard ordinance. Lum is reluctant to issue the arrest warrant on Squire, but Abner argues that the law is the law and needs to be enforced. Lum hesitates because he worries it will come across as a case of personal revenge.
Meanwhile, Abner gets a little confused over Lum’s expressions about “wasting his breath” and “weighing his words”—wondering what kind of scales a person would even use for such a thing. The confusion deepens when Abner is told to watch his words, leaving him to wonder where spoken words go after you say them. Do they just pile up somewhere?
Grandpap pops in to divert the conversation and, along with Dick Huttleston, reiterates the demand for a warrant against Squire. Will Lum cave in to their pressure?
Horlicks Letter: A woman writes in to share how her restless night was rescued by a glass of Horlicks, and how others complimented her well-rested appearance the next morning.
