Since there’s not much for dinner, he takes Leroy out to enjoy a soda and a movie. Is there something more to the broken window for the celebration? The gangster movie begins with all the usual police sirens and chases. Will justice be done? Will people make the right choices? Will the love of a good woman lead to a happy ending for the gangster? Returning home, Bertie let’s Gildy have the letter that came for him. He finds out he owes money to the IRS that was due today. Being late, he faces an audit. Despite the late hour, can he get Judge Hooker to fix the problem? Is there any chance Gildy might end up in jail?
That night, Gildersleeve is plagued by disturbing dreams. Like the gangster in the movie, he finds himself in the death house. Can Judge Hooker save him in time? Peavy could offer some help with his last meal, but I wouldn’t say that. If only the right kind of girl would come along for him. Mrs. Ransom visits to try to win over his heart.
