Carlton Bricker puts in some extra words to let listeners know how to send for their photo of Lum and Abner.
Down in Pine Ridge, the whole town has gathered for the big unveiling ceremony. Lum has his speech all set, and we hear him in full swing in its delivery. When he’s done the roar of Abner applauding is all we hear. Lum is just practicing his speech once again.
Abner complains about the costume that Lum made him wear. Grandpap enters to let Lum know that his public awaits. When he has a look of anticipation at the roaring mob, he gets the disappointment of his life. Nobody showed up except Dick Huttleston and Cedric. Lum is devastated at the lack of support. I wonder if some good, hot, Horlicks might cheer him up?
