Connie Brooks complains about her day at school. It seems that Mr. Boynton is more interested in his frog, science projects in the basketball team ahead of her. She speaks with Harriet Conklin to learn her trick on getting Walter Denton’s attention. The girls compare notes on dating. Miss Brooks notices the fondness and attention that Walter showers on his girlfriend. Mike the teenagers help her get Mr. Boynton’s mind out of the zoo, and into her parlor?
Will the French teacher, Mr. LeBlanc be willing to give some lessons in romance? Mr. LeBlanc figures that the look on her face is either caused by problems related to love, or the meatballs in the cafeteria. Her trouble was the biology teacher comes to light, and Mr. LeBlanc recommend she act hard to get. Will it be what it takes to pull Mr. Boynton’s attention away from the frog?
While Walter Denton spins Connie’s last dollar to buy a female frog, she goes to the science lab. Mr. Boynton can’t understand why his frog; McDougall is so sad. Even lonely pets need companionship. At the mention of a female frog, McDougall is already perking up. The trouble is that Walter brought the mail frog to her instead. Connie’s playing hard to get doesn’t seem to be paying off for her at this point. Back home, Ms. Davis tries to encourage her over her Valentine woes. Maybe she’ll have a solution to the female frog problem.
Back at school, Connie learns that Mrs. Davis put the frog in a bag inside of Mr. Conklin desk. The hypertensive, anxious and overwrought principal rights a receipt to Connie, as she pays for a recent mishap. Get ready for a double take and slow burn when Mr. Conklin says hello to the little frog. Back home, Connie gets ready for her double date with Mr. Boynton and McDougall. Millie and McDougall hit it off. Boynton brings a tomcat for Minerva. Will the two humans hit it off as well as the animals?
