Jack Benny – The Frightwig Murder Case, Part 2.

Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone on the set of their radio show in 1942.

Don gives tribute to the man who makes the show happened, Virgil Reimer, the sound effects man (Frank Nelson). Jack springs his own surprise, he threatens to fire Don. Jack is reluctant, but allows the soundman to apply his trade as he talks about coming to the studio. Mary and Phil enter to give Jack a hard time. Phil is still studying French at night school, and shows off his latest phrase. Jack announces that Humphrey Bogart will help with the mystery play later. Will he put up with being Jack’s assistant? Humphrey arrives and is introduced to the cast. Jack gives the cast assignments, and Don breaks out into a highbrow commercial. Humphrey is not thrilled with the assignments, and soon takes over the lead role instead of Jack.

After a bit of traveling music from the band, and some trouble with the soundman Jack can’t get rid of the trouble with bogey. Humphrey even takes over the MC duties as he introduces the play. Jack needles him as Capt. oh Bogart makes a minor flub. As bogey takes over the investigation, Jack grumbles the whole time.

At the crime scene, the clues are gathered. Phil interviews the French made. All the evidence points to the sultry Mrs. Fright wig, but bogey seems to ignore them. Will he believe it when Jack confesses?
