Gildersleeve’s is feeling great after his stay in the hospital. He enjoys a big breakfast before starting his day. He starts his morning by telling his young neighbor Babs about his operation. Conversation turns to a social event as the judge departs.
Next, it’s off to tell Peavey about his operation. His fast recovery. Conversations with nurses. No one seems to be interested or have sympathy that Gildersleeve’s is hale and hearty. Feeling a little down, Gildersleeve’s returns home and makes himself comfortable in his bedroom. The family begins to think he isn’t quite as recovered after all.
Expecting his girlfriend Paula to come pamper him, the great man is a little disappointed to find that she sent her daughter Babs to read to him. The judge arrives and sees through the feeble act that Gildersleeve’s is putting on for sympathy. Once Paula arrives, will it give him the encouragement to get his energy back?
