Before the show get started we have a news report with the war update. Being the height of the Christmas shopping season, Don turns our attention to Jack Benny as he drives is Maxwell to the department store. With Mary and Dennis along for the ride, Rochester points out that the Maxwell could only make left hand turns. Can Jack talk his way out of a ticket when a cop stops the Maxwell for doing a U-turn?
An hour later, and with no luck finding any place to park, Jack breaks down and pays money to park in the lot. Jack and Mary part ways from Rochester, and Dennis sings, “Rose O’Day.”

Finally in the crowded store, Jack and Mary review his Christmas list. As he fends off a pickpocket, Jack plans on picking up a razor for Don, extra blades for Phil, and a bird on a stick for Dennis. Will the floor walker be any help in finding the toy? Mr. Billingsley is in the store, but will he reveal what he is getting for Jack? Phil Harris and the band play, “Take the A-Train.”

Jack is still having trouble finding the toys, but Mary runs into an old friend in the perfumed department. Once he finds the toy department, the salesman tries to upsell him on a chemistry set. Will Jack be in trouble with the floor walker for breaking all the toys?
