A dutchman and the trail of money has Marlowe seeking after a Cloak of golden feathers. the cloak is over 100 square feet, and worth a fortune.

A suspicious character follows the dutchman, freeing Marlowe to continue on the real path to the cloak. Unless complications set in to delay Philip. The enjoyment of paradise is interrupted when a dame enters the scene. Is she the contact that Philip is to meet? Is there an imposter who is staying a step ahead of the real Philip Marlowe? A bit of bad luck turns the tables, and Marlowe is able to evade his captors. It’s back to Miss Collier, but how much does she know? How will Marlowe get her to talk?

Instead, he meets judo, and another thump on the head. Armed with fresh vengeance, Philip knows exactly how to find the cloak, and the lunatic killer who has it.
