Chester and Matt arrive in town on the train. In Abilene, they relieved to know they have the help of Bill Hickok to pick up their killer. Will they find the Daggett kid in the saloon? Will there be trouble? It would be an awfully short episode if there wasn’t. Although the apprehension goes smoothly, the town constable is on the side of the young bandit. The uncooperative law men warns there could be trouble with the Daggett brothers, and Bill Hickok is out of town. The clock ticks slowly while Matt waits the four hours for the next train to leave. Are the Daggett’s really as big a threat as their reputations makes them out to be? With two hours left to go, Matt is about to find out.
Leaving young Daggett secured in the hotel room, Matt goes to confront his brothers. Are the brothers just full of talk? There’s no gunplay, just a tense standoff that ends up with the fistfight. Leaving the beaten and bloodied brothers, Matt is once again warned by the town constable about overstepping his bounds. Back in the hotel room, the clock ticks while the waiting continues. Chester is sure the clock is ticking slower all the time.
The final half hour may be the longest as the law men take their captive to the train station. The skittish townspeople are steering clear of the street. Matt spots the hiding gunmen, and the strategic gunbattle begins. Will Matt and Chester get out alive? Justice is done in the crossfire of the shootout. Just in time to catch the train on time.
